YOUR WEEK, EXPLAINED
Selected blended courses combine a day on campus with a day online. Both are part of your taught timetable.
Learn face to face, discuss ideas with other students and spend time with your tutors.
Take part in the online teaching set by your provider. Confirm the session times and whether live attendance is required.
Allow additional time for reading, assignments, group work and preparation. The course remains a substantial study commitment.
The two-year New College Durham foundation degrees and the listed Birmingham Newman business top-up in Leicester use this blended pattern. Other routes are in person, or change delivery after the foundation year. Final days, hours and available places are confirmed with the provider.
THREE DIFFERENT ROUTES
A foundation year and a foundation degree are different qualifications and routes. Here is how the courses in our catalogue fit together.
4 years in the supplied course list.
An introductory foundation year is built into the degree. It develops subject knowledge and study skills before the degree years that follow. Progression depends on meeting the course details.
2 years in the supplied course list.
A separate higher education qualification combining academic study with practical knowledge. You can ask about a suitable top-up afterwards; the receiving provider decides course details.
1 year in the supplied course list.
A one-year route to complete a degree. Contact us for further information about this route.
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT WITH FOUNDATION YEAR
The supplied Birmingham Newman University Business Management routes at Stepney Green, Bradford and Leicester begin with an in-person foundation year.
From Year 1 of the degree, the listed pattern becomes one day on campus and one day online. The number of campus days during the foundation year needs to be confirmed before you apply.
